Dedicated to the memory of Dharmavajri/Rosemary

This site is a tribute to Dharmavajri/Rosemary, who was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on January 26, 1939.  She was named Rosemary Ann Stirling.  A much loved sister, mother, aunt, grand-mother, teacher and friend to many, Rose was given her Dharma name, Dharmavajri, when she joined the Triratna Buddhist Order in the summer of 2006.  Dharmavajri means 'She who is a diamond-thunderbolt in respect of the Buddha's teachings'.

Rosemary died peacefully at the Bristol Royal Infirmary on Tuesday 31 January 2023, having received excellent care from the staff there, whom she greatly enjoyed getting to know in her last days.

She really loved - and loved to share - the Dharma (the Buddha's teachings), so if you'd like to make a donation in her memory, there could be no more fitting place for it than the Dharmachakra project which she supported.

In the last days of her life she frequently said how blessed she felt by the Buddha's teachings, as well as by the love of her many friends and family.  May she go well.
